This type of V-belt is not provided with a sheath. They have - ground - open flanks and are provided with teeth. They are more wear-resistant and can transmit more power than sheathed V-belts. Thanks to the teeth and the absence of the shell, they are more flexible than V-belts with a narrow profile. This allows the belt to be used on smaller pulleys. This type of V-belt is therefore the most suitable choice in many situations.
