In order to serve its customers even better and carry out more work in-house, the company decided to invest in CNC technology. A recurring order for a 304 stainless steel component was the direct catalyst for this. Although outsourcing was considered, in-house production ultimately proved to be both more flexible and more cost-effective. Thanks in part to the attractive investment in the HUVEMA HC 400x750 CNC lathe, Dantech was able to make the transition to CNC in a responsible manner.
During a demonstration, it quickly became clear just how straightforward the transition to CNC is. Thanks to the user-friendly Siemens ShopTurn control system, staff were able to easily apply their experience with conventional turning to CNC production. To illustrate the machine’s capabilities immediately, the complete programme for the workpiece was set up and demonstrated to both Dantech and the end customer. This immediately instilled confidence in the machine and the production process.
As with any new investment, a short start-up period was required at the beginning, but the machine is now running smoothly as part of the production process. The combination of simple controls, reliable performance and fast service from HUVEMA ensures that the machine has now secured a permanent place within the company.
