FN Steel is a steel wire manufacturer on Dutch soil that, thanks in part to Huvema's surface grinder ESG 1224, can optimise the product inspection of bearings, bolts, nuts perform.
It's in the name
If you apply "steel" in your name, you have to feel it, breathe it and live it. At FNsteel certainly the case, as they themselves say: "we feel steel". FN Steel is a certified producer of special steel wire for the production of bearings, universal joints, bolts, nuts and springs, among other things. FNsteel makes this high-quality wire rod, for the automotive, engineering and mechanical engineering sectors. FNsteel is the only one in this world with more than 80 years of experience in all high-quality wire varieties and has - like no other in Europe - a rolling mill and complete finishing (annealing shop, pickling shop, drawing shop) on one site, in Alblasserdam. FNsteel puts dedication into all these processes and even goes a step further. Here, you can think of extensive product inspection and extra operations on the product!
Finer, finer, finest!
In the laboratory, FNsteel continuously carries out qualitative product checks to test the quality and density of product parameters. For this purpose, the steel wire is shortened and the test pieces are placed in a metal circular mould. The mould is filled with epoxy and then ground flat. After this these samples are further checked in the laboratory process by microscopic examination.
FN Steel was looking for a machine to suit these operations. For many years, Huvema has had an established line of surface grinders of the highest quality in its range for years. A surface grinder is not something that comes along every day, yet we don't turn our hand to this either at Huvema. When a customer is looking for an extremely extremely fine machining, we can recommend the solution of surface grinding with a hydraulic grinding bench. As in this case, we were able to customise this machine with options to meet the customer's exact wishes and thus deliver and install it at the customer's site virtually custom-made.
